August 13-15, 2026 — Jerusalem Hills
Ein Karem is one of the most picturesque and historically rich villages in the Jerusalem hills. Filled with stone alleyways, ancient churches, stepped gardens, and tranquil valley views, it offers endless inspiration for watercolor and urban sketching artists.
During this intensive 3-day retreat, we will explore composition, expressive watercolor techniques, capturing textures of stone and olive trees, and storytelling through sketchbooks.
What We Will Learn
- Simplifying complex village architecture — breaking down arches, domes, and stone staircases into clear value shapes.
- Light & shadow in watercolor — capturing Mediterranean sunlight and atmospheric depth.
- Textures & greenery — expressive ways to paint cypress trees, stone walls, and rocky hillsides.
- Daily group critiques & personal feedback in a supportive, relaxed atmosphere.
